Sadhana
Deepen your yoga practice with traditional hatha shatkarma cleanses, asana, pratyahar, pranayam, meditation, mantra japa, fire worship and other digital detoxing activities.
Seva
Purify your mind through karma yoga, selfless service and mindful action, to help you cultivate full awareness in all you think, say and do. Community Seva may include holistic education endeavors with local schools, landscaping, gardening, organic farming, general ashram maintenance, and sustainable construction projects.
Trek
Engage yourself in walking meditation, forest bathing, mantra japa, mindful breathing, and indigenous ayurvedic medicinal plant identification, while exploring various local trek routes, including those to three nearby glaciers.
Heal
Through group processing, journaling and working with your own pranic energy, you will learn to digest past experiences, lighten your emotional luggage, thus clearing your chakras and naadis for deeper inner healing.
Where are we going and how do we get there?
relativelyLocal transformational retreats are held at Uma Giri Kutir at Taptkund Mahadev Mandir, in Saling Village, Bageshwar District, Uttarakhand.
From your home country, fly into New Delhi. Trains will be arranged to Haldwani. And from there we will enjoy a gorgeous jeep drive through the Himalayas, with enough leisure to stop and enjoy in the breathtaking views along the way.
When is the best time to join?
relativelyLocal Himalayan Sadhana School Retreats are tailored to each individual or group, scheduled upon requests.
Intimate group retreats are held typically twice a year, before and after the monsoon (March – June and September – November). However individual sessions are welcomed throughout the year, upon request.
Note: monsoon is wet; winter is cold.
What will we eat?
We are not in a touristy area and therefore there is no cafe scene. Vegetarian meals will be collaboratively prepared with locally sourced, in season, wholesome ingredients.
